Mauri Paihere | Hamilton
It’s been with a great attention to social and cultural context that we’ve approached the brief for this project. A 47-home development by Kāinga Ora is planned for Hamilton South location. The project includes 16 housing units designated for women transitioning out of prison and a community hub. Kiingi Tuheitia has bestowed the name “Te Mauri Paihere ki Mangakootukutuku,” which means “weaving life principles” for the development. The housing complex will feature a combination of single and double-story homes, as well as food gardens and designated areas for a future kōhanga reo, a Māori language preschool.
